Myeongdong Cathedral
Myeongdong Cathedral, completed in 1898, is the seat of the Archdiocese of Seoul and the symbolic home of Catholicism in Korea, built on ground linked to the country's early martyrs. Its red-brick Gothic Revival tower is a Seoul landmark, and in the 1980s the cathedral became a sanctuary for the pro-democracy movement.
